Myofascial Release with Cupping
Cupping is a form of trigger point therapy and myofascial release therapy. Pressurized cups are used on the surface of the skin, which pull the skin up off the underlying tissue, allowing for fluid movement and nutrient supply to the tissues. The movement of fluid detoxifies, stimulates, and helps to increase range of motion. Cupping also has benefits of decreasing pain and inflammation and promotes relaxation and well-being of the muscles and surrounding soft tissues. Cupping is like a deep tissue massage, in that it can be used to break up scar tissue, loosen up fascia or connective tissue under the skin, reduce pain and stimulate healing.
